Detroit is starting to making winning an easy chore as the Red Wings have won back-to-back games and four of the last five. Detroit continues its Western road swing on Thursday when they meet the Vancouver Canucks, whom they line up well against and this is our free NHL pick of the midweek betting menu.
The Red Wings have already shut out the Canucks once this season and have taken three of the last four head-to-head. Detroit seems to have the Canucks number of late and own a 7-3-0-0 record in the last 10 meetings.
Detroit is climbing the standings in the West and getting better on the road with wins in two of their last three away from the Joe. Vancouver will likely be a small home favourite in this contest and with the Red Wings record against them it’s sure to be a good wager on the likely road underdog Red Wings.
Game Prediction: Take Detroit at Vancouver
It’s an All-Canadian matchup on Thursday when the reeling Montreal Canadiens welcome a chance to get out of town when they take on the favoured Winnipeg Jets in Manitoba.
Winnipeg sits second in the Southeast division and 11 of their wins have come at home, while Montreal is taking on Chicago Wednesday where they hope to end a three-game slide.
The Jets have been more consistent and are much healthier than Montreal and that plays into the Jets favour and they will be where the smart money goes on this NHL pick.
NHL Pick: Take Winnipeg on the puckline
Toronto and Buffalo meet in Ontario Thursday night where the Maple Leafs beat the Sabres in back-to-back meetings. Toronto should be the mainstay NHL pick on the betting lines with a strong record head-to-head, while Buffalo has failed to gain much ground even with Toronto’s struggles of late.
Toronto is a point ahead in the Northeast division and with three wins in their last four over Buffalo, the Maple Leafs have a slight edge.
